Our Team

Dr Chu attended Gonville and Caius College, University of Cambridge and graduated with a BA in Psychology, and subsequently a MPhil and PhD in Psychology and Education. Before that, she attended Stephen Perse School, also based in Cambridge, and Diocesan Girls’ School in Hong Kong.

Dr Chu has always been passionate about education. Early on, as part of her undergraduate studies, she took interest in various cultures’ use of literacy assessments. She then went on to develop a thesis on the interplay between learning capabilities and linguistic backgrounds during her MPhil and PhD years, before further honing her expertise in the field in post-doctoral positions at University of Cambridge.

Over the years she has had invaluable opportunities to directly work with University of Cambridge academics and a wide range of students. For two and three consecutive years respectively, Dr Chu was an interviewer for undergraduate admissions at University of Cambridge and supervised undergraduate and Masters students in Psychology and Education. Outside of her research, Dr Chu also taught GCE A-level Psychology and advised on university admissions back at Diocesan Girls’ School.

Dr Chu’s other work involved collaborations with Cambridge Enterprise, the innovation and consultancy arm of the University of Cambridge, which seeks to share the University’s expertise and know-how with industries and public institutions as academic and scientific advisors. She has also published and given talks on educational topics such as the Theory of Mind and academic assessment structures.

Dr Chu continues to hold a Research Consultant position with the University of Cambridge, advising on interprofessional education.
