Nathalie Fok

University of Florida
US Admissions Consultant

In high school, Nathalie studied the IB curriculum where she began to gain insight on how important a well-rounded academic and extracurricular profile is to successful admission. In her senior year in high school, she returned to Florida, where she was born, and dual enrolled to simultaneously begin her college studies at Palm Beach State College that year. Completing high school in the US also exposed her to Honors and AP course contents.  She then transferred to the University of Florida with a major in Political Science and specialized in International Relations and Public Affairs, and proceeded to graduate with Cum Laude. Throughout college, she was active in multiple student bodies such as the Student Government and other honor societies such as Phi Theta Kappa and Tau Sigma. These experiences allowed her to realize how passionate she has always been in working with and investing in students.  Throughout high school, Nathalie was also involved in many student organizations and children-related community service work, where she learned how to best build relationships with students and children, and was enlightened by their different perspectives and passions.

After graduation, Nathalie began her career in education consulting with a specialization in US admissions counseling. During her time as an education counselor, she greatly expanded her knowledge on college admission through conducting extensive research on admissions policies, requirements, and preferences. This experience left Nathalie with a keen sense of how to help students effectively position themselves for a successful application. In addition, Nathalie honed her skills as an interview and writing coach by guiding students to brainstorm, edit, and polish their personal statements and perfect their interview and general communication skills. Both aspects of the student guidance process are experiences that she immensely enjoys. She also developed an appreciation for the value of teamwork in the US counseling process and actively collaborates with co-counselors to ensure that each student receives multi-perspectival advice and feedback.  In addition, Nathalie’s unique personal experience, as a student who completed high school in the US and dual-enrolled, has left her with a passion to help secondary students pursue their dreams to study overseas and achieve academic success.

While she participated in musical performances, speech competitions, Chinese and English debate teams, and other language and art-related activities in school, something she continues to enjoy is reading up on current affairs and politics. For something more relaxing, she enjoys cooking, baking, and oil-painting. She particularly enjoys bringing in food that she made to work to share!
