Ophelia Chan

London School of Economics
UK Admissions Consultant

Ophelia graduated from the London School of Economics in BA (Hons) Social Anthropology with First Class Honours. In her final year, she researched on consumers' behaviour in London Smithfield Market and was awarded the Peter Loizos Prize for the best Ethnographic Report. Prior to attending the LSE, Ophelia studied at Concord College where she attained top grades in GCSEs with Continuation Scholarship as well as outstanding results in A-Level English Language, English Literature, History, Mathematics and EPQ.

Ophelia was initiated into the field of education guidance at an early age. Having studied in a boarding school and an international environment, Ophelia is proficient in empathising with students' struggles, recognising their underlying needs and assets, all of which are fundamental to helping students explore and pursue their desired academic pathways. Her skills along with her commitment to integrity and academic excellence were acknowledged when she was appointed as Senior and Library Prefect at Concord College. In these positions, she worked to maintain a trusting and encouraging school community in which individual students flourished as whole person. Since graduation, Ophelia has been working in consultancy roles in the UK and Hong Kong. With her enthusiasm in empowering young people, she later decided to specialise in education consultancy, devising tailored admissions strategies and coaching students from various background to facilitate successful admissions into top UK universities. Social Anthropology has equipped Ophelia with critical and lateral thinking skills, open-mindedness, cultural sensitivity, and a great lifelong intellectual synergy which she endeavours to help students foster in today's fast-changing and globalised world.

In her spare time, Ophelia often escapes from the hustle and bustle of city life to jog, exercise with a hula hoop and yoga-stretch. As a tea lover, Ophelia has the traditional kung-fu tea brewing adapted to suit modern needs, simplifying the procedure without compromising the quality of every sip of tea.
