Our Team

Derek graduated from Lincoln College, University of Oxford in Mathematics and Statistics (B.A., M.A. Oxon) with a First Class Honor before he obtained his master degree in Mathematical and Computational Finance at Oxford. Prior to joining Oxford, he had represented his alma mater La Salle College and Hong Kong in several mathematics competitions.

Equipped with extensive knowledge of financial mathematics and economic analysis, Derek is now an investment professional at a HK-based Family Office, with prior investment banking experiences at Goldman Sachs and BNP Paribas. Derek is passionate about teaching Mathematics and preparing his students for any form of challenge ahead of them. He assists his students regardless of what stage they are at since his aim is to help them make progress and improve. He finds satisfaction in giving his students the determination and skills they need to succeed in their academic endeavors.

Derek is an Anglophile and enjoys British culture very much. He is a passionate supporter of Manchester United and enjoys playing football and tennis. He has also passed his grade 8 exam in piano and enjoys listening to British music.
