Kai Wilkinson

University of Plymouth
English & Psychology Instructor

Kai Wilkinson from the University of Plymouth, achieving a Bsc (HONS) in Psychology with Criminal Justice. She went on to undergo her Masters in Criminological Psychology at Birmingham University and completed her teacher training qualification in post compulsory education and training at the University of the West of England in Bristol.

During her studies, she took up various roles. This included working in the community as a volunteer counselling juveniles, or supporting individuals through resettlement. She also worked as a project manager in a women's rehabilitation unit, children with learning difficulties and challenging behaviour, and special needs establishments.

Kai completed her educational training in the U.K and moved back to Hong Kong with her family. Kai worked at one of the leading Academic Group in HK, teaching primarily English language and literature. She was promoted as the deputy head of U.K English shortly after, and took up lessons teaching entrance exams, Psychology, Philosophy and personal statements. She is specialized for IB, GCEAL and IGCSE syllabi.

She left to pursue a career at an International school in Hong Kong, and continued to work as a Humanities and Psychology, as well as Global perspectives and Personal Project throughout her time there. During the years of teaching in Hong Kong, Kai has always privately tutored students in her own time. She prides herself on building strong, trusting and communicative relationships with her students and believes that students only truly excel if their ways of learning are understood and respected. She tailors the way she delivers information to suit the needs of each individual student, and believes that being introspective and reflective is the key to progress and development.

Kai has had the joy and opportunity to teach an array of students, from a vast age range, in many different settings. Respecting and allowing students to have autonomy over their own learning is for her, an important aspect of her lessons.
