From a wealth of teaching experience in Southeast Asia since 2011 including almost 4 years in Hong Kong coaching both local and international school students, Teresa has a great understanding of the common struggles students face; thus, she has developed proven strategies as well as skills for her students to overcome the struggles and to hone their own strengths. With insight into the curricula of both local schools and international schools in Hong Kong, the needs of each student are well-accommodated and each student can reach their potential in Teresa’s lessons.

Born in Ireland and raised in the UK, Teresa’s native English and education background naturally allowed her to specialise in the UK syllabus for I/GCSE English 1st and 2nd language, Common Entrance Exams (CEE), IELTS and TOEFL where her students have attained top grades and scores to gain admission into UK’s best boarding schools and universities.

Through interactive teaching methods, Teresa promotes critical thinking and self-discovery. She believes the real acquiring of knowledge and skills is when students can apply them for and by themselves. She sees the teacher’s role as a facilitator to provide students with the learning tools to better equip themselves for their future. On top of continuously seeking ways to improve teaching, Teresa is dedicated in curriculum development and has created effective results-oriented materials for I/GCSE and writing courses to enhance students’ learning experiences. In the future, Teresa plans to continue with curriculum development, by designing materials that would best facilitate students’ learning to bridge the gaps in academic achievement.
