Vivian is currently pursuing a Master of Journalism at the University of Hong Kong, with a focus on storytelling and cross-cultural communication. Prior to this, she completed a Master of Arts in English Literature at the University of Chicago, where her thesis on Chaucer’s narrative techniques earned acclaim in peer-reviewed publications. Awarded the Rudolph Scholarship for academic excellence, Vivian bridges literary analysis and modern pedagogy through her work. Her academic journey began at Bard College in New York, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and published a thesis critiquing medieval romance traditions in the school’s digital library. During her undergraduate studies, she also earned a TESOL certificate, laying the foundation for her teaching career. Her deep immersion in global educational systems fuels her mission to transform students into articulate, critical thinkers.

Vivian is a dedicated educator, holding two master’s degrees—one in English Literature from the University of Chicago and the other in Journalism from the University of Hong Kong. Having lived in the U.S. since the age of 14, Vivian possesses an intimate understanding of American educational systems and cross-cultural communication. With over 7 years of teaching and mentorship experience across Hong Kong, New York, Chicago, and Beijing, Vivian specializes in guiding students through IB/AP English, SAT & SSAT, and critical reading and writing. Her expertise extends to curriculum design, fostering critical thinking, and cultivating tailored academic strategies, with a proven track record of elevating exam performance and securing admissions to top-tier institutions. A passionate advocate for student empowerment, Vivian thrives on uncovering individual strengths and fostering motivation through dynamic, engaging lessons. Her love for literature and storytelling fuels her commitment to helping students articulate their unique narratives. Cheerful and approachable, she blends academic rigor with creativity, drawing inspiration from her own pursuits in arts and cultural exploration to empower students to approach learning with curiosity and confidence.

Vivian’s passions extend beyond academia: a music and art history minor fuels her love for curating exhibitions, attending theater performances, and freelance journalism. An extroverted adventurer, she hikes in summer, skis in winter, and balances her vibrant energy with the quiet companionship of her two cats.
