Yumi Tsang

London School of Economics
UK Admissions Consultant

Yumi attained her High School diploma at St George’s School, Edinburgh, her BSc in International Relations and History at LSE. She then completed her Master’s in International and Public Affairs at University of Hong Kong. Growing up in the UK, she was used to learning European languages and has kept learning Spanish as a hobby. During her university, she therefore completed a B2 level Spanish course alongside her degree. Her academic pursuits are anchored in the field of security studies, with a particular focus on Chinese Foreign Policy. Indeed, her master’s thesis was about Chinese semiconductor development and its far-reaching implications for the international eco-political landscape.

Yumi has worked across different sectors during her time in the UK. From doing SDGs research for the UN House of Scotland, co-developing a Learning and Development strategy plan for a technology consultancy to handling student affairs for her university’s student union. Additionally, she was a GCSE English Tutor who enjoyed teaching Macbeth, poetry and passage reading. Leveraging her enthusiasm for working with young people, she also worked as an International Relations tutor in a London summer school teaching sixth form students about IR theories, Middle East politics and climate change. From her positive experience in teaching, Yumi therefore seeks to continue her education career at ARCH.

In her free time, Yumi is either reading or looking for a new book to read. However, she equally loves staying active by running and going to the gym regularly. As a wannabe cat owner, you can also find her in one of your local cat cafes.
