Critical Thinking Socrates Program Level 1

Theme: Social Awareness in Things Around You
Term 1
Students will investigate the expression of opinions in the fields of arts and recreation. By looking at celebrated artists, famous football leagues and popular online games, we aim to train students to observe and abstract new knowledge from their own personal experiences. Through research and analysis, we will discuss and develop innovative solutions to problems that surround us.
Term 2
Think about the value of things. How we determine the worth of objects, items and ideas that surround us. By looking into Art & Architecture, Space and Sports, we ask the entrepreneurial questions of how we create value in the world, not just value in commerce and materials, but also value in culture and sentiments.
Critical Thinking Socrates Program Level 2
(AGE 12-14 / G7-G9 / Y8-Y10 / S1-S3) (SO2)

Theme: Governing the World
Term 1
As the world contends with crisis after crisis, we see a world that is closer together in experience but further apart in action. In this fall term of Socrates, we see to revisit the fabric of the world village through the lens of security, diplomatic and economic challenges. We will be enhancing students’ skills in research and critical analysis as we investigate the frameworks that bind countries together as well as consider how solutions for evolving uncertainties that governments face.
Term 2
In this term, we will study how societies and countries interact with one another. By looking at the trade in diamonds and arms, we question the dynamics of evolving values and affirmative actions. Through marriage and religion, we look at the core values that define our families and society. By exploring these topics, we can find how material and immaterial values are created and shaped.
