Ignite your child’s ability to speak and think critically about issues that matter! Our Debate Program helps students develop critical and reasoned positions on key current affairs and issues of community importance.
Led by the Debate Coach & Selector of the Hong Kong Debate Team, Mr. Sandeep Chulani who had a strong track record in coaching students for international competitions, students engage in research on wide-ranging themes, hone oratory skills in persuasion, and develop teamwork skills in debate.

Debate Program Starter
(AGES 9-10 / Y5-Y6 / G4-G5 / P4-P5) (DBS)

To kickstart student’s combined ability to think and articulate, our starter debate class aims to inspire the next generation of young debaters. By engaging students through their personal experiences and immediate social issues, they can gain confidence and find their voices through individual and group work.
Debate Program Level 1
(AGES 11-12 / Y7-Y8 / G6-G7 / P6-S1) (DB1)

This level of debate class introduces the world of competitive debate to budding speakers through interactive group work and constant feedback from our coaches. A combination of spoken and written practices will ignite the students’ ability to think critically about what matters.
Debate Program Level 2
(AGES 13-14 / Y9-Y10 / G8-G9 / S2-S3) (DB2)

Formal debate skills are honed to shape orators at this stage. Through peer brainstorming and technical exercises, our coaches will guide students through frameworks of analysis that enable them to delve into local and global issues which otherwise may seem abstract and disconnected.
Debate Program Level 3
(AGES 15+ / Y10+ / G9+ / S4+) (DB3)

- Competition Preparation
Four competing teams in a round, live-fire interjection during a speech or sharp questions from the floor. Aspiring debaters joining this course will be trained through a series of tournament-level debate motions to develop the competence to analyse, compose and deliver full speeches at the standard of regional tournaments.
Debate Tournaments
With a dedicated team of trainers, we invite committed debaters to join the ARCH team in experiential trips to overseas tournaments.
With these trips, we aim to broaden the learning horizon of our students and expose them to a competitive environment that will challenge them to strive and grow. Our debaters have had great successes with Oxford Schools and Asian Schools tournaments.
